Junichi was born in Nagasaki and grew up in many locations around Japan. When he was a young man in Tokyo, he acted in amateur Kabuki performances, Japanese traditional drama. Junichi practices several Japanese martial arts, such as Nippon Kenpo and Iaido, Japanese traditional swordsmanship, in which he has a third degree black belt. He has lived in Canada for over 30 years.
