Duane Williams is a South African actor best known for his recurring role as Vernon on the SABC2 soap 7de Laan. Born and raised in Cape Town, he first found his path in the arts when he did drama at high school. His passion extended into dance and he trained, competed and worked professionally. He worked as a core dancer in Universal films Honey 3 and Bring It on 6, as well as the Warner Brothers film A Cinderella Story. In 2017, 7de Laan decided to create internship opportunities for young inexperienced actors. Duane formed part of this program for Season 19 of the show. His character Vernon made his debut on Thursday 19 October, 2017. Duane landed his first starring role in 2019 when he was cast as Mark Tedder in the Netflix coming-of-age drama series Blood & Water which aired in 2020 in which the show gained international recognition. In 2021 he landed his first leading role as Angelo in SABC 2's comedy series Aksi Spaza. Duane is also a theatrical actor having performed in shows such as The Fugards 'West Side Story' 2017/2018 South African tour, The Buddy Holly Show where he played Ritchie Valens and many more.

He is also part of the cast of "Parque Mayer" and "Carga" which will premiere in 2018. Duarte was nominated by the Portuguese Academy of Cinema as Best Supporting Actor with the role, Zé, for the movie "Al Berto".
