After spending the majority of his upbringing in Moreno Valley, CA , Charles Maceo earned an academic scholarship to the prestigious University of California, Irvine. The classically trained actor, initially studying economics, was bit by the acting bug and studied Drama at the renowned Claire Trevor School of the Arts. He graduated from UC Irvine with high honors and taught 5th grade through the Teach for America program while garnering his teaching credentials at Cal State Dominguez Hills. He then moved to New York to begin his professional acting career where he would perform on national and regional tours for two years in productions including Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing (as Don John) and A Midsummer Night's Dream (as Oberon). Other stage credits include August Wilson's Seven Guitars as Red Carter (with Windell Middlebrooks), Deputy Danforth in The Crucible, and Claudius in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Turning to his aspirations of film and television, Maceo headed back to California in late 2009 to begin those pursuits. Since then, he has landed several lead roles in independent films and projects including a series role as Alphonso "Money" Bernardo in the television pilot, "Just Jamaal." Maceo also serves as a tutor for inner-city youth and foster children along with teaching Shakespeare and acting to the aforementioned demographic along with home-schooled children through Los Angeles and the Valley. He is a proud member of both the Screen Actors Guild and Actors Equity Association.
