Corey was born and raised in Dorchester, Massachusetts, Boston's largest and most diverse neighborhoods. His parents, from Barbados, instilled a winning mindset in him from an early age, telling him that no matter where you come from, as long as you work hard and give as much effort as possible, you can become anything. This was the foundation for Corey's approach to his life and acting, and what still motivates him today to set an example of success for his friends and family. As a child, Corey enjoyed performing whenever and wherever he could - whether it was portraying different characters for home videos, or playing the clarinet during school band performances - he found that he loved it all as long as he was entertaining audiences. A defining moment for him came when he impersonated James Brown during a second grade concert, as this was when he realized that he had caught the acting bug. Although performing was always a passion of his, football took up most of his time outside of school for many years following, causing acting to take a temporary backseat. It wasn't until an injury occurred during his senior year at Springfield College, when Corey was forced to stop playing football, that he decided to pursue his life-long dream of becoming an actor. It was at this point that he began auditioning and landing lead roles in his college theatre productions, for which he garnered rave reviews for his performances. Since graduating with an undergraduate degree in business management and an MBA, Corey has been determined to make a name for himself in the film industry by auditioning, attending networking events, and polishing his marketing tools; using the skills and knowledge he gained through his education to run his acting career like a serious business. He has also started his own production company "Corey Omar Productions" which has taken off the ground and is doing extremely well. He has also been training with the best in business - Dustin Felder of DFAS, Carolyn Pickman of C.P. Casting, Michael Fennimore at Boston Casting, and Steve Blackwood of "Days of Our Lives," to name a few. His diligence and focus has already paid off, landing him representation with Model Club, Inc. and principal roles in the independent films "District C-11" "Theory of Conflict," "Become God," and the "Plaga Zombie American Invasion." When he's not acting, Corey's other interests include weight training, running, cycling, boxing, football, basketball, reading, watching movies, business and marketing strategies, and anything technology related.
