    Asabi was born in the Eastern United States (Ohio) and has since lived in various states, most notably, Oklahoma and California. She began performing at the age of 8 with the All Souls Unitarian Children's Choir (Tulsa, Oklahoma). Prior to beginning her acting career, Asabi studied and completed a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC), where she was also a founding member of the university's first all female a cappella group, The USC Sirens. Asabi spent many years in California working as a chemical engineer for both large and small companies, which ultimately landed her in Brisbane, Australia. After moving to Brisbane in 2008, Asabi completed an Advanced Diploma in Screen and Stage Acting, and has been gaining a variety of film experience throughout Brisbane including appearing as the Mother in the music video "So Far" for Brisbane rap artist Blaq Carrie, as Sylvia Bentley in the short film, Killing Hannah Bentley (TropFest entry 2013), as the Nurse in the independent feature, Killer Smile (2014), and as the American News Anchor in the upcoming independent feature, Colourful & Impossible (December, 2014).
