Inspired by a true mining tragedy the film is about people from all walks of life showing courage and character to fight the forces of nature.

Avtaar leads a happy life with his wife, Radha, and his sons, Chander and Ramesh. However, consumed by their greed and ambitions, Avtaar's sons betray him but he soon reaches new heights of success.

When Raja and Asha get married, they realise that Raja's income is not sufficient for them and their two children. Asha then decides to get a job while Raja stays at home to look after the children.
